From Cup to Paper: G.F Smith Retail Window
We were engaged to provide production and installation solutions for windows and exhibition spaces designed by Made Thought to showcase G.F Smith’s Colorplan paper range.
Ahead of starting production, we carried out a site survey, presented our ideas to the Made Thought designers and created production drawings for fabrication, taking any Health and Safety consideration into account. We carried out prototyping before installation to check proof of concept, with bespoke patterns CAD drawn and CNC cut from clear recycled acrylic sheets to form modular sections.
We created bespoke recycled acrylic cases to house approximately 15,000 cups. A steel structure was fabricated and concealed within the cups to give the illusion of a floating piece of paper in the window. For the prism window, recycled acrylic was used as a framework in which the paper prisms were made to float.
